Due to its altitude of 1,200 m above sea level, Mallnitz is guaranteed to have snow in the winter.

With the Ankogel ski area at the foot of the Ankogel (3,252m) you will find an excellent alpine and freeride ski area. Enjoy powder snow, no overflowing slopes and breathtaking views of the Mallnitz mountains. The Köfelealm is also an excellent practice slope for those who are on skis for the first time.

In addition, Carinthia's only year-round glacier ski area, the Mölltal Glacier, is about 20 min drive away from Mallnitz. A regular ski bus runs several times a day.

In Mallnitz you will also find ski rental, ski schools and a ski kindergarten. Guests of the Villa Talheim receive 15% discount on ski rental when booking online.

The ski bus stop is just one minute from Villa Talheim. For guests, the trip to the Ankogel ski area is free of charge.

Cross-country skiers find 25 km of groomed trails surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Ski touring skiers can enjoy fantastic tours. Snowshoeing is also really fun. Here, too, my guests benefit from the advantages of an Alpine Pearls operation and receive a guided snowshoe tour free of charge.

If you prefer leisurely walks, you can walk through the winter landscape on cleared hiking trails.

Fancy sledging? Then you can go down the 3 km long, excellently prepared (and at night floodlight) toboggan run. A taxi takes you up and provides the sledges, afterwards you can enjoy a cozy get-together in a rustic Carinthian hut with Carinthian delicacies (including the best ribs in town!).
